Egypt is the second oldest civilization known to man. Throughout our journey of the land of the pharoah,we will explore the rise of this river valley civlization along the Nile River. We will tour the great pyramids of Giza, explore the tomb of King Tut, and recognize the pharaohs at the Valley of the Kings.


Ancient Mesopotamia is the second river valley we will studying, but it is actually the oldest civilization known to man. We will have fun learning how to write in cuneiform, exploring the seven wonders of the ancient world, and understanding the value of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.

Ancient India is known as a subcontinent. It is separated by the Himalyas from the rest of Asia. During this unit we will have the oppportunity to compare and contrast Hinduism with Buddhism, identify the levels of the caste system, and explore the geography of this Indus River Valley.




China is the largest country in Asia. During this unit we will travel through the dynasties of ancient Chinga, create Chinese scrolls and lanterns, and create personalized zodiac bookmarks. We will understand the value of the Huang River to the developement of this civilization.
